What IS the Weekend Flash?
The Flash is a super-fun yet challenging little exercise I have done in the past with other author friends.
Life got busy and the Flash died out, but it’s time to resurrect it!
It’s alive! Run for your … Oh, wait no! Come back!
In a teeny tiny nutshell, the Weekend Flash is a 250-300-word blurb based on a prompt, either visual or a couple key words. The prompts will be posted the last Friday of each month, and the blurbs themselves will go up on the following Sunday.
Seems easy enough? It ain’t. The trick is to write something compelling, engaging … something that sucks the reader (and writer!) in and makes you want more in a very limited number of words.
I invite anyone who wants to participate to do so! Write your own blurb and post it in the comments below or on my Flash post on Instagram or Facebook. You can send me an image or a couple words you think would make a great future prompt, too. And be sure to comment and let people know which Flashes you like the best!
Just … have fun! I know I will.
